About the College

            Kamaraj College of Engineering & Technology, a self financing institution offers Quality Technical Education over a decade. This institution has been approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and affiliated to Anna University. The college offers 10 UG and 6 PG programmes in Engineering and Technology and 7 Doctorial Programmes. The institute focuses on multi-disciplinary skills of students endorsed with industry institute interaction. It is nearer to many places namely Madurai, Arupukottai, Sivakasi and Sattur. The college campus is at a distance of 40 kms from Madurai and 10 kms fromVirudhunagar.

About the Department

            The Department of Mechatronics Engineering was started in the year 2014. The Department is nourished with the latest equipments and computing facilities with latest version of software’s namely, ANSYS, SOLIDWORKS, AUTOMATION STUDIO, Femap NASTRAN, NX CAD/CAM/CAE, AUTOSIM etc.,


            Incorporated   in   1995,   SMC   India   is a   100% subsidiary of    SMC   Corporation    Japan,    the   World Leader in Pneumatics.  SMC India has three   state-of-art manufacturing   facilities in   India. SMC   offers   12,000 basic      products with 7, 00,000 Variations    to accommodate diverse applications of various industries Like Automotive, Machine Tool , Food Processing , Pharmaceutical , Printing &    Packaging , Mining etc , SMC  India  is  specialized   with    pneumatic control engineering to support Industrial  Automation ,  SMC India  develops  a  broad  range  of  control  systems  and equipment , such  as Direction  Control Valves,  Actuators , and Air-Line Equipments.


            KAMARAJ – SMC Pneumatics Centre for  excellence at Kamaraj college of engineering and technology was established in the year 2016 to promote educational and research    activities   in  the field  of robotics and automation., This centre bridges the gap between industries and institution with a distinctive capability to harness the    intellectual energy  of   academia to  impact  Indian  industries, It is established as  interdisciplinary centre for Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,  Electronics & Communication Engineering,  Electrical & Electronics Engineering,   and Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering of  Kamaraj college of engineering and technology in response to  the  rapidly growing  interest  of  Indian  industries in robotics  and  automation  in  recent years.
