About Us

Information Technology is one of the most dynamic fields in the modern world today. It prepares the students to meet the technical demands of business, government, healthcare, military, schools, and other organizations. Information Technology is used in almost every sphere or profession, making the process much easier, developing competence and solving problems. IT sector is growing at fast pace and creating ample opportunities in India and abroad for deserving candidates with great pay packages.
Information Technology department was established in the year 2001 and has 17 well qualified faculty members expertise in various fields of Information Technology and can exert a dedicated work to produce high caliber technocrats. Of them, one has completed his doctoral degree, five of them are pursuing their doctoral degrees and all others have PG degrees.
M.E (Biometrics and Cyber Security) Programme was started in the year 2014. The postgraduate level programme (M.E.) in Biometrics and Cyber Security course offers an advanced level of learning by providing with a thorough understanding of the theories, concepts and techniques for the design, development and effective use of secure information systems. It aims to cater the needs of industry, research and development.


To make the department of Information Technology the unique of its kind in the field of Research and Development activities in this part of world.


To impart highly innovative and technical knowledge in the field of Information Technology to the urban and unreachable rural student folks through Total Quality Education.

Program Educational Objectives(PEO):
PEO 1: To prepare students by integrating the content knowledge from the different areas of mathematics, sciences and engineering fundamentals which will be required to solve industrial problems and to pursue higher studies.
PEO 2: To train the students to comprehend, analyze and design the novel engineering solutions and products to solve real life problems.
PEO 3: To prepare students for a successful career with effective communication skills, teamwork skills, leadership skills and work with ethical behavior that meets the needs of Multi-national companies.
PEO 4: To provide students with conducive ambience aware of self learn and life-long learning.
PSO 1: Apply the appropriate tools used for software applications in industries and to take initiatives to become an entrepreneur.
PSO 2: Identify, define and integrate IT- based and IT - related solutions that address the diverse users’ needs.
Program Outcomes(POs)

Engineering graduates will be able to

PO 1: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
PO 2: Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
PO 3: Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
PO 4: Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
PO 5: Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
PO 6: The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
PO 7: Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
PO 8: Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
PO 9: Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
PO 10: Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
PO 11: Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.
PO 12: Life-long learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.

1. MoU with IBM for establishing three specialty Labs viz., Cyber Security, Clouding computing and Mobility
2. MoU with EMC2 for conducting International Certification on “ Cloud Infrastructure and Services”
3. Department has linkage with top class institutions like Institute for Technology, Management and Research Institute (ITMR), India and Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG), University Warwick, U.K. who are the pioneer in the field of cyber security
4. Department has linkage with the industries like Infosys, TCS, Solaritis, ICT Academy etc
5. Microsoft Campus Agreement – IT department has agreement with Microsoft for all licensed products of Microsoft.
6. E-Journals are subscribed in College Library and can be accessed through Intranet within the college premises
7. Our department have four University rank holders in 2009-2013 batch
8. Individual computer for each student with Internet access through 22 Mpbs 1:1 leased line is ensured during lab hours.
9. Department library with more than 250 Engineering books in recent technologies to enrich the students knowledge.
10. Department has dedicated has seminar hall with the seating capacity of eighty.
11. Training for GATE, GRE and IETLS to improve the employability potential
12. Motivating the students to participate in the technical events such as web designing, Technical Quiz, Paper presentation
